Ryan Botts Memorial Fund

Ryan Botts was a gifted teacher, an excellent mathematician, a caring mentor of students, and a skilled craftsman. He loved working with his hands and working with students on projects. The Maker Space in Rohr Science is one of the places where all of his gifts and passions came together. It is a place filled with all kinds of cool “toys”: 3-D printers, a CNC mill, a laser cutter, and hand tools that Ryan selected for student use. It was in this room that he used the 3-D printers to make face shields for medical facilities in Mexico.

This is why Ryan’s family has joined with the Mathematical, Information and Computer Sciences department to create a fund that will support the ongoing work of the Maker Space. Your support will provide students with the opportunity to learn about computing and engineering by engaging with hands-on projects in a creative space.

Thank you for continuing Ryan’s legacy through your gift.
